With X Partners Co., Ltd. (“WXP”) is pleased to announce that it has become a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), an initiative advocated by the United Nations.
WXP is an independent asset management firm that, through private equity investment in small and mid-sized enterprises in Japan, supports the sustainable growth and transformation of its investee companies. Guided by its “With × X” philosophy—thinking together and creating together—WXP works to achieve long-term business growth and the creation of social value by aligning the employees, management, and shareholders of its investee companies toward a shared direction.
WXP regards its signing of the PRI as a significant step in clearly demonstrating its commitment as a responsible investor. Going forward, we will make investment decisions and promote value-creation activities with a strong emphasis on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations.
WXP’s ESG Initiatives
In October 2025, WXP established its ESG Policy, positioning ESG as a “source of corporate value creation.” In addition to the pillars set out below, WXP has established an ESG Committee chaired by its Representative Director, putting in place a framework to implement, oversee, and enhance its ESG policy:
- Assessing ESG factors from the investment consideration stage to identify and appropriately manage risks at an early stage.
- Placing importance on value co-creation with investee companies and reflecting ESG improvements in their medium- to long-term business plans and KPIs.
- Establishing a continuous improvement cycle through annual monitoring to drive ongoing improvement on ESG issues.
- Providing transparent disclosure of information to stakeholders, including the investors (LPs) of the funds under its management.
About the PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment)
The PRI is a set of international guidelines for institutional investors, established in 2006 under the auspices of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and the UN Global Compact. Comprising six principles—including the incorporation of ESG issues into investment decision-making processes—it has been signed by pension funds, asset managers, and other institutions around the world.
